Dear Friends,
I’m pleased to share an update on In the Presence of Flowers, now on view through April 30, 2026, at the Methuen Community Television Studio Gallery,

A recent episode of Art in the Studio on Methuen Community Television features the exhibition, offering a deeper look into the work, my process, and the ideas behind these photo paintings. In the program, I talk about how these images move beyond traditional photography—drawing the viewer into an immersive, almost tactile experience of flowers. By working at a larger scale and through layered compositions, the petals, color fields, and subtle shifts of light become environments you can enter visually, revealing details that are often missed in a passing glance.
The works are designed to slow the act of looking. As you spend time with them, intricate structures begin to emerge—veins within petals, the interplay of shadow and translucence, and the way colors intensify and dissolve into one another. This sense of immersion allows the flowers to feel both intimate and expansive, delicate yet powerful. You can view the full intervew here.
or a shorter version here.
I hope you will have a chance to visit the exhibition in person. The physical scale and presence of the work offer an experience that extends beyond the screen.
Thank you, as always, for your support and interest.
Warm regards,
Alan Michel
